5/31/10  Waiting for another tow.

5/31/10......Spoilers open, waiting for another tow.

5/29/10........We were able to climb to almost 9000' MSL on this day.  Its hard to believe you can get way up here without an engine.  We managed to gain 6000' + after release from the tow car.  We use the same rising parcels of hot air that a hawk or buzzard would. Often we share the same thermals with them. Note the red yaw string attached to the pitot tube. Not very complicated but is very useful for coordination.

5/29/10.......Leaving a thermal just under cloudbase at 8900' MSL for another thermal upwind.

5/29/10......View looking east towards San Angelo at 8000' MSL. Highway 67 is visible in the picture.

Waiting for the tow car to hook up at the far end of the rope so we can launch.
